Review of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art
As part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport's programme of reviews, it is currently undertaking a review of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art.
This Consultation is now closed.
It is a requirement of good Government that the bodies it funds should be reviewed every five years. The review will be comprehensive, wide-ranging and vigorous and is intended to examine how the Reviewing Committee has performed in the past and review its roles and functions and how those functions can best be carried out.
It will consider and comment on the Reviewing Committee's aims and objectives for the next few years, review the efficiency and effectiveness of the way in which it delivers its services and make recommendations for its future development and management.
Individuals and organisations with an interest in the Reviewing Committee are invited to make known their views. In particular, the Department would welcome views on the following topics:
• the purposes, aims and objectives of the Reviewing Committee;
• the Reviewing Committee's organisation, functions and delivery mechanisms
• the efficiency and effectiveness of the Reviewing Committee;
• the Reviewing Committee's responsiveness and relationship with its customers;
• the Reviewing Committee's partnerships and links with other organisations; and
• the Reviewing Committee's use of new technology.
Consultation papers are attached with more details of how the review is being conducted, the role and functions of the Reviewing Committee and the sorts of questions you might consider in your response. Written contributions are requested in the first instance, but the Review Panel may also wish to invite oral submissions.
