GOE work experience programme

At the request of Minister for the Olympics, Tessa Jowell, the Government Olympic Executive (GOE) has instigated an exciting new summer work experience programme aimed at young people for whom such an opportunity is a rare occurrence.

We have had a number of young people join us over the last few weeks to learn about the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Each had the opportunity of joining a tour of the Houses of Parliament and much more besides.  All of the young people are taking part on a scheme run by either The Prince's Trust or Action for Children.  We hope their time here was fun, memorable and will be of benefit to them for the future.

To give our young people the opportunity of recording and sharing their thoughts and experiences, they each kept a diary.  Read about the kinds of things they’ve been up to and what they are learning about the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games below:
